West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang looks set to leave the Premier League side before the transfer deadline, according to TMW. Earlier today we covered reports from Italy that the Spaniard was likely to leave the East London club to join Fiorentina.
TMW have reported in the last hour a decision has been made on the future of Obiang at West Ham, and a return to Italy is likely to happen in the next few hours. Fiorentina were claimed to be in pole to sign Obiang, but fellow Serie A sides AS Roma and Sampdoria are now in the race to sign him. The player is now waiting for his agent to inform him of his next destination.
Obiang signed for West Ham in the last summer transfer window from Sampdoria, but started just 11 games in the Premier League in his debut season in England. He’s struggled to make an impact since arriving in England, which has led to speculation throughout the summer he would return to Italy.
