West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang could leave the club in the next transfer window after claims in the Italian media that Sevilla are interested in him. The Spaniard only joined the Hammers last year, but has failed to make the impact the Premier League side expected from the player.
TMW have reported Obiang’s time at West Ham looks to be over and a move in the new year looks on the cards. It’s been revealed Obiang is keen on a move to Sevilla, and TMW say his suitcase is packed and he’s ready to go.
The 24-year-old was born in Spain, and had a spell in the Atletico Madrid academy before his move to Italy, so it’s understandable if he would welcome a move back to his home country. Obiang has received game time under Slaven Bilic this season, but the chance to play in La Liga is likely to tempt him to leave.
Sevilla isn’t the only option catching the attention of West Ham’s Obiang, and he would also be keen on a return to Serie A if an Italian club came in for him. Indeed, TMW say that would be the player’s dream.
Obiang had great success at Sampdoria before his move to England, and may feel the Italian game suits him better.
The central midfielder nearly headed back to Serie A in the summer when Fiorentina were showing an interest, but a move did’t materialise.
