Jonathan Calleri and his representatives may well strongly regret the day they signed a deal with Deportivo Maldonado. The Uruguayan club is used to buy players and loan them out to others, before, hopefully, selling them on and making a big profit.
It hasn’t worked out well for Calleri and his loan move to West Ham has been one to forget. The player wasn’t keen to make the move in the first place, but having signed his future away he didn’t have an awful lot of say in the matter.
Slaven Bilic had been searching around for strikers, and when Calleri’s masters offered the player to West Ham it ticked several boxes, if not the ones which count.
Calleri wasn’t able to convince Bilic, with the West Ham manager not prepared to waste too much time on a 23 year old who would likely be gone soon.
Now Calleri and his owners have to find a new club, and Marca report he’s been offered to Malaga. It could be a good solution for the Spanish club, who look near certain to be losing Sandro Ramirez this summer.
