Following the recent reports about West Ham United interest in Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo, it now seems they’ve just made an attempt for the signing.
That’s reported by Taggat journalist Papa Mahmour Gueye. On Twitter, he says the Hammers placed a bid worth €17m for the signing.
West Ham’s offer, however, was turned down by Strasbourg, and there’s no information whether there’ll be a new attempt from David Moyes’ side.
Diallo has been linked to the Hammers since May. In fact, he’s apparently chased by several Premier League clubs, as the likes of Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley, Newcastle United and West Ham have all been said to be keen.
The striker had 20 goals in 37 league games last season, so it’s really no wonder why so many sides are interested in buying him this summer.
Diallo is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €18m, and as his contract with Strasbourg runs until 2025, it indeed looks like West Ham may have offered relatively little money for such a wanted player in the transfer window.
