Over the past week or so, Sasa Kalajdzic has suddenly been linked with a long list of clubs interested in his services.
German magazine Kicker reported the Stuttgart forward was receiving a lot if interest, especially from England, with West Ham specifically named. A summer transfer was valued at around €20-25m, and interest has also been reported from other German clubs and some in Serie A.
When a player is all-of-a-sudden linked with a long list of clubs, it often feels like there’s a renewal on the horizon and agents are pressuring the current club to come up with a better offer.
That may well be the case with Kalajdzic, with West Ham, known to be looking for a new striker having sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in the winter market, an obvious club to throw into the mix.
Fussball Transfers now carry quotes the player has given to Kicker (where many of the claims originated), and they again mention West Ham as an interested party.
The 23-year-old has dropped a big hint that he’s happy to stay where he is, which would encourage the theory of agent games: “I am happy to be with VfB. Because I like to play at VfB and know that I am valued. I am in Stuttgart with head and heart.”
Specifically on a renewal he said: “I can well imagine that.”
