In case you’ve missed it yesterday, Portuguese newspaper Record had a very interesting story about West Ham’s efforts to sign Gedson Fernandes from Benfica.
It’s been claimed that the Hammers have scheduled a meeting for next week, when they can close a deal to bring the midfielder to England.
The newspaper brings an update on this story today, and they continue to sound pretty optimistic about the chances of an agreement between the clubs.
They say Benfica want Gedson to be loaned for one and a half seasons, until the summer of 2021, and West Ham are the ‘most likely destination’ for the 20-year-old.
However, further developments are only expected to happen at the start of next week, when Hammers officials will be in Lisbon to try to find a deal.
Record also points out that Gedson has made a post on social media using the emojis of two hammers, but then deleted it.
