The Brazilian media today reveals West Ham United interest in São Paulo defender Luizão.
The information is shared by outlet IG, who cover the complicated situation the player is currently living at the Tricolor.
Luizão’s deal with São Paulo expires in January, and while they struggle to find a deal for an extension, he’s already able to sign a pre-contract with another club.
Fulham, as previously reported, are one of the sides who are keeping an eye on the situation, and West Ham are now included in the race as well.
It’s claimed that Whites and Hammers are waiting for developments in the talks between Luizão and São Paulo, before taking further action. IG, however, points out the player and his staff are not thinking about signing a pre-contract, so those clubs would either have to agree a transfer now or wait until January to get him as a free agent.
But in slightly different claims, UOL today reported that Fulham have already placed an official bid for the player. So if that’s right, it should be a sign for West Ham not to wait too long to move.
