West Ham are showing some statement of intent in this transfer window.
The Hammers have already launched bids for Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi, and reports now suggest they’re interested in signing a certain Serie A star.
On Sunday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham are interested in signing Inter Milan skipper Mauro Icardi.
Gazzetta reckon Inter have already received an offer for Icardi from West Ham, but it was rejected.
The Serie A side will only start negotiations for the Argentine star if any club are prepared to offer at least €40m.
West Ham could also face competition from Atletico Madrid, who are also said to be interested in signing him.
There are no offers from Atletico Madrid yet, and it also remains to be seen if Icardi would consider a move to West Ham.
The Hammers seem to be very determined to continue the good work done by Slaven Bilic last season, and make their team even more competitive next season.
Icadi has a patchy reputation off the pitch, but is usually pretty good on it. Formerly with Barcelona’s youth system, Icardi is very important for Inter and a move to West Ham would be something of a shock.
