On Sunday, we covered a very brief story from Calciomercato about West Ham interest in M’Bala Nzola.

The Hammers, along with Newcastle United, were said to be interested in the Spezia striker, and it made some sense for David Moyes’ side especially, given they’re currently in the market for an addition.

The 24-year-old has scored eight goals in 12 Serie A matches so far this season, an excellent return, and even better given Spezia have only scored 21 goals in 16 league matches.

Nzola was playing in Serie B last season, so his record looks impressive and it’s therefore no surprise the attacker, who switches between a striker role and the right wing, is attracting attention.

Calciomercato linked Napoli, and now it’s Sampdoria’s turn to get in on the act. ClubDoria46 report Nzola is ‘liked by many clubs’ and he’s being very closely watched by the Genoa club.

AC Milan are also said to be keen, but West Ham and Newcastle are described as being in the ‘front row’ for the signing. Sampdoria would be looking more towards the summer, and that would give Moyes’ side an advantage if they are to move this month.
