With English teams competing in every European competition this season, it was inevitable we’d hear about fan trouble, and it seems West Ham United fans have been the unfortunate targets.

They’re currently in Frankfurt for the second leg of their Europa semi-final clash with Eintracht, and unfortunately, it’s led to trouble.

BILD explain that there have been ‘brutal attacks’ in the city, with ‘Eintracht thugs’ hunting down English fans ‘brutally and ruthlessly’.

Police report that the first attack occurred on Tuesday at around 6pm near the kebab boat on the banks of the river. According to the police, a ‘mob’ of Frankfurt fans attacked two British fans and then fled.

Two hours later, the same perpetrators struck again, attacking a group of Croatian students before again disappearing.

Police ended up hunting them down and arrested six people, but that didn’t stop the trouble, with a West Ham fan later attacked in a pub and ending up in hospital.

This attack was a random one, with a group of 15-20 masked men storming the pub and attacking anyone at random, including a ‘pub-goer from Frankfurt’.

Frankfurt police have insisted that West Ham fans are safe despite these incidents, stating they plan to ‘strictly separate the two problem fan camps’ and ‘intervene consistently’ if there is trouble.

However, that’s not stopped Hammers fans from being concerned, with a steamboat trip planned down the river ‘banned’ over fears Eintracht thugs would tip slurry from the bridges onto the boat.

Sadly, then, it seems English fans have been targeted once again, with German thugs going out of their way to ruin what should be an exciting evening for those West Ham fans who’ve travelled over.
