Over the course of the summer, West Ham were looking for a new striker.

Six months later, and after signing two strikers, they are still looking for a new striker.

With the likely exits of Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri, the Hammers are once again looking for someone to put the ball in the back of the net consistently for them, and according to Le10 Sport, the London club are positioning themselves, alongside Southampton and Crystal Palace, for Nice striker Alassane Pléa.

The 23-year-old, who worked under Saints boss Claude Puel last season, has been in fine form this season, and attracted a lot of attention, playing alongside Mario Balotelli when the Italian has been fit.

The answer back then was ‘We need to have a chat with Lucien Favre, then we will see…’

With 10 goals in 19 league games so far this season, it’s fair to say things under the German manager are going well, and with three Premier League clubs looking to sign him, including his former manager Claude Puel, Nice could be in financial luck.

However, considering their great form, and the fact money isn’t all that much of an issue to them at the moment, West Ham, Southampton and Crystal Palace might have to look elsewhere, as we can’t see Nice selling this winter.
