Called up to the France U21 squad once again, West Ham and Crystal Palace target Jonathan Bamba still doesn’t know what his future holds.

The 21-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and with Saint-Etienne, his current club, unwilling to meet his demands, a free transfer come the end of the season is expected.

Back in January, the youngster could have had the opportunity to move elsewhere, but his manager, Jean-Louis Gasset, pleaded with the club to keep hold of him for the rest of the campaign, as he currently is the side’s top scorer and the player with the most assists.

While he remains focused on his football, Bamba would also like to know what his future holds, as he told Goal France in an interview at Clairefontaine on Monday.

Asked about it, he said: “It’s still not sorted. I’m waiting and I hope that it will sort itself out soon”.

For that to happen, offers need to be made, and while David Moyes and Roy Hodgson are said to be fans, nothing has been accepted down the player’s end.

West Ham are said to have already made an offer, and are reportedly in the lead, but with their future in the top flight currently in jeopardy thanks to some rather dire form, he might want to look elsewhere.

The same applies to Crystal Palace, really.
