West Ham are one of a number of clubs in a ‘fierce competition’ to sign Sardar Azmoun.
Corriere del Mezzogiorno are covering interest from their local club Napoli in the Zenit player, and they bring in the Hammers and Atletico Madrid as competitors.
Napoli are in frequent contract with the player’s entourage, whilst West Ham and Atletico have initiated contact with the Russian club and Azmoun’s agent.
Fali Ramadani represents the Iran international, and the experienced agent has good contacts within English football.
Zenit are thought to be looking for around €25-30m for the 25 year old attacker, who they signed in February 2019 from Rubin Kazan. That fee would be possible for all the clubs involved, however, Napoli have a problem compared to West Ham and Atletico.
They don’t have any spaces left for non EU players, so to comply with Serie A rules they’d need to sell someone, with Hirving Lozano presented as a possibility.
Azmoun, a striker, has scored 14 goals in 29 matches for Zenit this season, and added seven assists.
