West Ham United’s Nikola Vlašić is currently on loan at Torino and it’s not still clear where he’ll play next season.
The Serie A side have a €13m purchase option. Two days ago, Tuttosport reported they wanted to sign him for less than €9m.
Another report from Tuttosport now states ‘West Ham’s response is awaited’ for the Turin club to make a decision on the 25-year-old.
Torino have a decision to make on buying the attacking midfielder and Aleksei Miranchuk, who is on loan from Atalanta. It’s not clear what they intend to do with the duo so far. Even the two players ‘haven’t even understood how the matter will end’.
The Croatia international, for his part, has no intention of going back to West Ham after his struggles last season. It was mentioned earlier that Torino director Davide Vagnati ‘awaits a response from West Ham’, likely to negotiate a deal for much lower than €13m.
It’s claimed the Hammers are aware of this and have ‘asked for a little more time’ to give a response. They want to focus on guaranteeing their stay in the Premier League, for which they need one more point from two games.
Vlašić and Miranchuk having a lack of desire to return to their parent clubs will allow Torino to try to get them on better terms. If West Ham and Atalanta refuse to give discounts or extend their loan deals, then Torino would have to make a decision on the duo.
Tuttosport end their report by stating: ‘But West Ham and Atalanta are not sleeping, they too keep their antennas straight: they will be able to try to sell Vlašić and Miranchuk to other clubs, just in case, trying to keep the price up better.’
