West Brom and Wolverhampton fans may recall the rumour linking the clubs to the Fenerbahce midfielder Josef Souza this year.
The Baggies have been following the Brazilian for a long time, with lots of meetings reported, but never managed to find a deal for him.
Regarding the Wolves, reports from Turkey this month claimed that the club had made a late €11m for him, which was apparently turned down by Fenerbahce.
But the Premier League transfer window is now closed, with none of the clubs signing Souza, and now, he’s heading to Saudi Arabia.
Website Globo Esporte claims that Fenerbahce have accepted a €12m bid for the midfielder, who will be signing a three-year contract with Al Ahli Jeddah.
Globo Esporte recalls that Souza got very close on joining West Brom, but Fenerbahce turned down their €10m offer for the Brazilian.
So maybe Baggies and Wolves should have just pushed a little more, or perhaps Fenerbahce thought they would could sell the midfielder for a superior amount, which they never did.
