HaberTurk say Josef de Souza is still expected to leave Fenerbahce before the transfer deadline, ahead of his proposed move to West Bromwich Albion.
Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that West Brom’s €11.5m bid for Souza had been accepted by Fenerbahce, after the player pleaded with the Turkish side to allow him a move to the Premier League.
Despite West Brom’s interest in PSG midfielder Gregorz Krychowiak, HaberTurk still expect Souza to sign for the English club before the deadline. A deal should be straight forward as the player holds an EU passport, but West Brom’s links with Krychowiak have raised doubts over the move.
Souza is keen to get a move to West Brom, as he believes playing in the Premier League will give him more visibility than he currently gets in Turkey. The 28 year old is still hoping to get back into the Brazil national team, and add to the three appearances he’s already made for his country.
It remains to be seen whether West Brom’s sudden interest in Krychowiak will change things for Souza, but the Turkish press are confident that he’ll arrive at the Hawthorns this week.
