A Spor’s Fenerbahce journalist Ahmet Selim Kul claims West Bromwich Albion are seriously interested in signing Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi.
Slaven Bilic’s side are currently sitting 2nd in the Championship, and Kul reports their primary target this summer will be the Kosovo international.
West Brom officials are said to have been following Muriqi since his performance against England last year, and they could look to sign the player when the market opens. Any move by the Baggies for him will come down to whether they get promotion to the Premier League.
Kul adds it’s currently unclear how much Fenerbahce will want for the forward. Previous reports in the Turkish media stated Fener were looking to get something between €20m and €30m for the 26 year old. However, they could now struggle to get this due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
It’s also reported Fenerbahce may need to sell Muriqi in order to sign some players such as Basaksehir’s Irfan Can Kahveci, and the Yellow Canaries will look to sign two strikers if he leaves.
Muriqi has made 32 appearances for Fener in all competitions this season, scoring 17 goals. His contract at the Ulker Stadium will expire at the end of June 2023.
