According to a claim in the Turkish media, West Bromwich Albion sent a scout to the game between Trabzonspor and Besiktas on Monday night to get a lowdown on Okay Yokuslu.
The central midfielder has been linked with West Brom in recent months, and two weeks ago it was reported in Turkey the Premier League side are lining up a summer bid for the player.
Milliyet have reported West Brom were in attendance to see Besiktas beat Trabzonspor 2-0, and the English side would have got a good assessment of the 23 year old after he completed the 90 minutes.
Yokuslu couldn’t prevent his side being defeated by the Turkish champions, but Milliyet say he put in a decent second half performance.
Despite being a regular for Trabzonspor this season his club may be willing to sell to West Brom in the summer due to financial reasons, and also the strength in depth they have in midfield.
It’s expected West Brom will come in with an offer of €8m to sign Yokuslu, although a move could depend on the Baggies remaining in the Premier League.
