West Bromwich Albion are interested in the Porto defender Diogo Queirós, according to reports from the Portuguese media today.
It’s newspaper A Bola who says that after signing midfielder Filip Krovinovic from Benfica, the Baggies now have a new target in the North of the country.
Porto are currently short of defenders, and that’s the reason why Queirós is considered to be an important player in the preseason squad.
However, the club are negotiating the return of Ivan Marcano from Roma. And in case the Spanish centre-back comes back, then they wouldn’t be against letting Queirós go out on a loan deal.
A Bola doesn’t report any talks or negotiations for Queirós so far, so things are probably in the very early stages with West Brom.
They recall that the player has been linked to the likes of Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest in the past, so the interest from England isn’t something new. At Sport Witness, we’ve also covered stories linking him to Arsenal, Liverpool and Wolves.
