Turkish newspaper Sabah report West Bromwich Albion are in pole position to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.
Besiktas are looking to part ways with him because of their poor financial situation. The Croatia international is currently the highest earner at the club, so is the obvious target for a sale.
Sabah claim that along with West Brom, Roma, Inter, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Monaco and Lyon are all interested in Vida, however, the newly promoted Premier League side are said to be leading the race for the 31 year old.
Slaven Bilic will be in the market to bolster his squad ahead of their return to Premier League and signing his compatriot Vida could be a good piece of business for the west Midlands club.
It’s also claimed Lyon are heavily interested in signing Vida, and they could look to exchange him with Marcelo, a former Besiktas defender.
Vida made 31 appearances for Besiktas last season and is under contract with the Super Lig club until June 2022.
