Turkish newspaper Hurriyet have a big article on Josef de Souza to West Brom in their Sunday edition.
That West Brom have made an offer for the Brazilian has been reported all over Turkey, with varying amounts claimed. Hurriyet say the Baggies have put forward €11m, and insisted they won’t go any further than that.
Despite Fenerbahce having a €13m asking price, West Brom have refused to make the jump and told the Turkish club they expect to be able to sign Souza for €11m.
The impression given is that Fenerbahce hope for a little more, but will give in and sell for €11m if that’s needed.
Selling Souza to West Brom probably won’t be something to upset Fenerbahce’s fans.
Hurriyet have collected just a selection of online messages encouraging the club to sell.
That’s not exactly a great endorsement for Souza, but there’s every chance he could be more loved at West Brom than he is at Fenerbahce.
