Napoli are the latest club to show an interest in Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, according to claims in Italy.
The Czech Republic international has impressed this season, and has also been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion in recent weeks.
Messaggero Veneto have reported Napoli took the opportunity to approach Udinese at the weekend when the two teams met. On the agenda for Napoli was asking about the availability of Jankto in the next summer window. The 21-year-old has already been linked with other clubs, but Napoli are hoping to use Duvan Zapata as a bargaining tool.
The Colombian forward is currently on loan with Udinese, and will return to his parent club at the end of the season. Napoli are prepared to let Zapata join Udinese on a permanent deal with Jankto coming the other way. Despite Udinese being keen on signing Zapata it’s unlikely they would sanction such a deal in the next window.
Last month we covered claims from Italy that West Brom had joined the race to sign Jankto. It was reported West Brom had travelled to Italy to get a lowdown on the player before making a possible move for him in the summer.
Tony Pulis will be looking to strengthen his squad in the next window, and Jankto is an option for the Premier League side. Growing interest in the player, from Arsenal, Napoli and others, could provide difficult competition for West Brom.
The youngster has been valued at €15m by his club.
