On Monday, we brought you the latest from Crystal Palace’s interest in Khouma Babacar, and the fact the Eagles were prepared to bid €15m for the Senegalese striker.

No offer had arrived yet, but Fiorentina were said to be willing to consider a sale if the price was right, which will have undoubtedly pricked up the ears of a handful of other clubs, including Brighton and West Brom.

Both sides are currently on the lookout for a striker, and Gazzetta dello Sport explain the two Premier League clubs have joined Crystal Palace in pursuing the 24-year-old.

Brighton know all about Babacar, having tried to sign him late in the transfer window, only for the forward to reject them, wanting to try and make a name for himself in Florence.

However, only used sporadically by Stefano Pioli so far, his mindset has changed, and a move elsewhere is on the cards.

As for West Brom, the fact Salomon Rondon is their top scorer in the league with three goals in 21 appearances says it all about their need for a new goalscorer.

Alan Pardew has a lot of work ahead of him, and finding someone who can put the ball in the back of the net regularly would make his job a lot easier.
