Ignacio Camacho to West Brom will be official ‘within hours’, explain Marca on Tuesday.
The Spanish newspaper make it quite a big story and go with the line of Malaga’s owner yesterday sending out a series of tweets saying Camacho had asked for a transfer, but a deal wasn’t completed.
Marca say that’s wrong, and everything has been agreed since Sunday, the owner Abdullah Al-Thani may have simply been making it clear that the club were against a sale.
West Brom are set to pay €15m plus a further €3m in bonuses for Camacho, and the player himself is set for a huge hike in wages. Camacho will receive three times the amount Malaga had offered him on a new contract, for the 26 year it’s a huge difference in salary level.
West Brom claims seem to be everywhere in the European media today, it looks like the club are keen on several last minute deals.
