Tottenham Hotspur seem to have completed the vast majority, if not all, of their summer business before deadline day.
A month ago, reports from Germany stated Bayern Munich have an interest to sign Spurs star Harry Kane in 2023.
The Bundesliga winners’ manager, Julian Nagelsmann, had earlier refused to rule out a move for the Tottenham captain and his comments annoyed Antonio Conte.
On August 12th, Bayern president Herbert Hainer admitted his side will keep an eye on the 29-year-old.
Hasan Salihamidžić has joined Nagelsmann and Hainer to give their take on the chances of the England international’s arrival at the Allianz Arena next year. The Bayern sporting director made these comments during an interview with Sky Deutschland.
“That’s too early to talk about, and if you look at our attack now, we have eight players for four positions. There’s a lot of fire in there,” he said.
“If you look at the training sessions, it’s great fun to watch. Some training matches are better than Bundesliga games, so it’s way too early to talk about it. I’m very happy with how offensively we played and how many goals we scored.”
Sky informed Salihamidžić that they have learned the Tottenham frontman likes Bayern. Responding to that, he said: “We’re happy about that.”
Bayern were also said to be interested in Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in the window. On this subject, the German champions’ chief revealed he didn’t hold talks with the Manchester United star, but he spoke with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
“I often talk to Jorge Mendes. Yes, we spoke,” Salihamidžić stressed.
“A great player who has made his mark on the world of football in recent years. It wasn’t an option for us because we did other things and previously organised our attack in such a way that it was closed. But you don’t have to feel sorry for him. He’s a great footballer who has achieved great things in recent years.”
