Harry Kane’s Tottenham Hotspur contract runs down in 2024 and there have been rumours building in Germany about his possible move to Bayern Munich in summer 2023.
On July 27th, Bild reported the Bundesliga winners have started the process to tempt the 29-year-old to join them.
It was also explained Tottenham will fight to keep the striker at the north London club.
Last month, Julian Nagelsmann was quizzed about the possibility of the Bavarian club signing the England international. The former RB Leipzig coach refused to rule out a move for Kane and his comments annoyed Spurs manager Antonio Conte.
Earlier in this window, Bayern allowed Robert Lewandowski to make a switch to Barcelona and added Sadio Mané and young forward Mathys Tel to their squad. Despite this, Kane continues to be linked with the German champions over a potential move next year.
Abendzeitung interviewed Bayern president Herbert Hainer and asked whether his side are looking at the Tottenham player, likely for 2023.
“For the time being, we are focused on this summer. Now we have a great team with an average age of 25, 26 years. Many players have long-term contracts, the framework is in place, we can plan the next steps at our leisure,” he said.
When directly asked whether Kane’s name has been discussed internally at Bayern yet, Hainer explained: “No. However, we will continue to keep an eye on the market in general – without being under any pressure to do anything. Our attack is top-class.”
