Michael Kayode was heavily linked with a move to Brentford in the summer, but a transfer never materialised.
An offer was made by the Bees and the insistence was that a better offer could have tempted Fiorentina into a sale.
In recent days, uncertainty has emerged from Italy about Kayode’s future at La Viola due to his lack of game time since the start of the season.
While that was encouraging for Brentford, a transfer could still be complicated.
Kayode’s agent Claudio Vigorelli recently gave a talk at the Palermo Football Conference and spoke about his client and his situation at Fiorentina.
He said, as relayed by FiorentinaUno: “I like working with young people, it gives me adrenaline to discover talents and I always try to find them. This is what happened with Kayode, who first arrived in the Fiorentina Primavera and then in the first team. We are satisfied.”
Kayode has played only 18 minutes in Serie A this season and he finds himself at the fringes of the club’s squad.
While his agent suggests he’s satisfied with the defender’s situation, those words may just be to keep some kind of calm in discourse surrounding the player.
