Coming late in the January transfer window, Milan’s interest in Gerard Deulofeu was very loud.
So loud, in fact, that the Watford winger addressed it fairly swiftly, and made it clear he wouldn’t be against a return to the San Siro, where he enjoyed a successful six months on loan from Everton a couple of seasons ago.
However, before any of this happens, Milan will need to agree a fee with the Hornets, and therein lies the issue.
Watford and Javi Gracia are fully aware of the winger’s talent, and therefore will likely make it as difficult as possible for the Serie A side to get their man.
Corriere dello Sport believe the Premier League club will ask for ‘at least €25m’, which still seems a little low considering how important Deulofeu has been this season.
Leonardo is said to be behind this desire to sign the Spaniard, but they also have Allan Saint-Maximin on their list, who might be easier to get.
While no order is revealed, it appears Deulofeu is top of the Brazilian director of football’s list, followed closely by the Frenchman.
