Throughout this week we’ve brought you various updates on Watford striker Cucho Hernández and his desperate search for a club.
The young striker has spent the last two seasons on loan at Huesca but returned to Vicarage Road this summer.
There’s no place for him at Watford, though, and he’s been desperately searching for a new club to avoid spending a season playing in the Hornets Under 23s.
We covered a report yesterday that stated he now had three clubs interested in his services, with Real Valladolid, Leganés and Mallorca all interested.
The latter were seen as his best option. They had made a ‘formal and more serious offer’ than the others, and were waiting on the ‘manager’s decision’.
AS Colombia backed up the report and said, they were ‘already in talks with Watford’ over a loan deal.
That appears to have progressed over last night, with COPE reporting that Hernández will be heading to the newly-promoted side on loan.
They say the deal has already been closed and he will arrive at the club, unless ‘unless some other opportunity arises’.
That seems unlikely to happen given his difficulties finding a new club this summer and this mini Watford saga is now at an end, for this season at least.
