There’s now a little more optimism from the Italian press that Torino could sign Roberto Pereyra from Watford this summer.
The Serie A side’s interest in the midfielder has been reported for a while now, with manager Walter Mazzarri asking for his signing at the start of the year.
The coach left the club this summer, but according to Calcio Mercato, Torino are ‘back’ on following the player, with a real chance for a deal this time.
The website says that the price demanded by Watford had been blocking the chances of an agreement. Now the Hornets have dropped the numbers, making the move likelier.
The transfer, however, is reportedly linked to Iago Falque’s departure from Torino. The Spaniard has just returned from a loan at Genoa, and the Turin side are now working on his move out of the club.
Pereyra’s contract with Watford expires in a year, so that’s a crucial time to either sell him or give him a new contract.
