Watford have made an offer of €60m for Goncalo Guedes, according to El Desmarque, with the news first coming from CulturePSG in France on Wednesday evening.
The Portuguese international, who is on the books of Paris Saint-Germain, spent the last season on loan at Valencia. He wants to continue with the Spanish club and has therefore rejected the Hornets’ offer.
Marcelino has held talks with the winger over the phone and made it clear that his side are ready to wait until the last day of the transfer window to secure his signature.
Marca claims PSG are demanding €60m for Gudes, while Valencia are ready to offer €40m for the former Benfica man, which is €20m less than what Watford are said to have offered. They also suggest that there is still a chance for them to snatch the player from Los Che on deadline day.
The transfer window in England will close today and if none of the linked Premier League clubs, like Watford, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers can agree a deal with PSG, then it will provide Valencia with an upper hand while negotiating with the Ligue 1 outfit for Guedes.
Maybe the Watford claim is to put pressure on Valencia.
