Watford were one of the clubs who had emissaries in the north of Portugal watching Boavista play Sporting on Saturday evening, according to newspaper Record.
The Hornets, who haven’t been linked to any Boavista or Sporting talents lately, were probably just looking for some local talents as the summer transfer window approaches.
Although the home side surprised with an early goal, the Lions have done their job and made a comeback so they can keep fighting for a place in the European competitions.
Boavista defenders Bruno Jubal and Neris, who scored the opener, both had a great match.
For Sporting, defender Jeremy Mathieu and midfielder Raphinha both impressed. Bruno Fernandes, the €100m captain, was once again the man of the match and scored the late winner from the penalty spot.
He’s likely our of Watford’s ranger.
Other clubs who had scouts at this match were Manchester United, Sevilla, Celta Vigo, Tenerife, Inter Milan, Roma, Atalanta, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Olympiacos, Montpellier and Rennes.
