Watford midfielder Matheus Santana says he has informed the club he is happy on his current loan deal despite a lack of playing time with the club.
Santana is currently spending the season on loan with Recreativo Huelva in the Spanish Segunda Division B, his fourth loan spell in Spain since signing for Watford from Recreativo Granada in 2017.
He is yet to get going at the club, though, with just two appearances and 41 minutes of football to his name so far.
Those two appearances are the only two times he has been in the squad this season, with injuries and a positive Coronavirus test meaning he’s largely been absent.
Santana says he has looked to allay any fears at Vicarage Road, though, explaining it’s been a case of unfortunate circumstances working against him.
“I have contact with them (Watford),” he told Huelva 24.
“In Spain, there are people from them who are closer to us; they always ask us why we are not enjoying minutes.
“I have told them that I have had the bad luck of the Covid and the injury but also that they have given me a lot of confidence to continue growing.”
