In the last month or so, various reports coming out of England have mentioned Watford’s interest in Ashley Young.
On April 17th, we relayed news from Italy the Inter Milan player is eyeing a return to his old club in the summer.
His contract runs down on June 30th and without an extension, Young can leave the Serie A winners as a free agent.
Xisco’s side achieved promotion to the Premier League and reports linking Young with a move to Vicarage Road have intensified since then. There’s been a new development on this case, according to FcInterNews.
Taking his contract situation into account, the website states the winger-turned fullback is living his final weeks at the San Siro.
Having won the Scudetto with Inter, the 35-year-old ‘will most likely’ return to England in the summer, where Watford have been ‘courting him for some time.’
It’s claimed the Hornets have sent their ‘first official proposal’ in the ‘last few hours’. The offer includes an annual salary worth €2m, with an option to further extend the contract by a year.
The figures are yet to satisfy the former Manchester United man, but there’s willingness on his part to ‘deepen the discussion.’
In other words, FcInterNews state it shouldn’t be difficult for the two parties to find an agreement for a potential summer move.
