There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahce are interested in Genk winger Mbwana Samatta, but they face competition from Leicester City and Watford.
In the past 12 months the 26 year old has been in impressive form for the Jupiler league club, scoring 23 goals in 38 league matches.
Fotospor today report Samatta is a target for a number of clubs, including Leicester City and Watford. After his performance against Besiktas in the Europa League it’s reported clubs in Turkey started to take interest in the player, including Fener.
However, Genk’s asking price of €13m would be an issue for the Istanbul club, but not for Leicester or Watford. Fenerbahce’s transfer policy this summer is to bring in free agents due to their financial issues.
According to the Turkish media outlet, Lazio and Schalke are also tracking Samatta and could make an offer for the attacker in this window.
Samatta is under contract at his club until June 2021.
