About a month ago, we relayed a story from Footmercato who claimed AS Monaco’s Mathieu Tisserand had been the subject of a bid from Watford in the Premier League.
The young defender spent last season on loan at Toulouse as he looked to get game time under his belt in a bid to break into Monaco’s squad for the 2016-17 competition, but talk of a move elsewhere refuses to go away.
This time, it’s L’Equipe, in their Friday edition, who have an update on the situation.
The French newspaper cover Saint-Etienne’s interest in the player, who also made a bid for the defender according to FranceMercato last month, and reveal Watford’s interest for Tisserand is still there, waiting to be answered.
Ingolstadt in Germany are the third club in line for 23-year-old, with Monaco ready to sell him if the offer is right, which should be around €5m.
This amount of money wouldn’t exactly break Watford’s bank, meaning a deal could easily be done were the club prepared to make a push.
There’s no talk of an actual bid from the Premier League side from L’Equipe, meaning either Footmercato were wrong, or the original offer was rejected and Watford are pondering the situation.
