Ismaïla Sarr and João Pedro have had direct involvement in the majority of goals scored by Watford in the league this season. They’ve managed 28 goals from 21 matches, with the duo combining together to contribute 17.
Pedro has managed six goals and two assists, while the Senegal international has six goals and three assists to his name. The duo’s form has helped the Hornets get to fourth spot.
At the same time, the displays for Watford have seen the pair linked to other clubs. Among them is Napoli.
Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta gave an interview to Radio Punto Nuovo, and his quotes are relayed by Area Napoli.
The Serie A side are currently at the top of the table, eight points ahead of AC Milan, who are in second spot. The Watford director has heaped praise on the work carried out by his Napoli counterpart in the summer transfer window.
“I’ve known Giuntoli for a lifetime, we talk often. He deserves the sporting director of the year award, without a doubt,” the Hornets chief explained.
“He’s a guy who’s always been busy, he’s always had the fixed thought of bringing Napoli to the top. The scouting area of the club this year has been really fundamental in finding players like Kim and Kvaratskhelia.”
