Benfica and Watford continue working on the transfer of Andre Carrillo.
According to the Portuguese press, the loan deal continues to be pretty much sorted, as the player waits for the final decision so he can fly to England.
Carrillo had missed Benfica’s first three games this season due to injuries, and didn’t make it to Saturday’s squad against Belenenses because of manager choices.
Newspapers A Bola and Jornal de Notícias are both confirming the move is still on, but they don’t seem to know the reason why it’s taking so long to become official.
Carrillo is expected to move to Watford on a one year loan deal, which the Hornets will be paying €1m for. At the end of the spell, there will be a €15m buying option.
During these last few days of negotiations, the player put a post on Instagram to show how happy he is about wife being pregnant, but didn’t leave any hints if the baby will grow up in England or Portugal.
