El Dia, who have been prominent on Juan Foyth’s Estudiantes exit since the rumours first started, have an update on the situation in their Sunday edition.

Several days ago, El Dia reported that Tottenham had returned to the picture and were set to beat PSG to the signing of Foyth.

It was a last minute change, and the day before it was expected Foyth would have to give up on his Tottenham dream and sign for PSG instead.

On Saturday, El Dia reported an agent of Foyth saying “It’s done” when asked about the transfer, but a source close to the club told them “it is a lie that there is agreement between the clubs”.

Sunday’s news seems more positive for Tottenham, with Foyth now training separately from his Estudiantes teammates, and fans getting in their last goodbye selfies.

Sources at Estduaintes have now told El Dia the deal is 90% done with Tottenham, but not quite done enough to allow Foyth to travel. Further sources close to the transfer have told the Argentine newspaper that, as long as things don’t collapse… “On Tuesday he’d travel to London.”

PSG remain waiting in the wings should Tottenham again walk away from the deal, but there’s now a genuine sense of confidence that Foyth is going to get his way, and become part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
