If there’s one thing the Italian sport media loves more than linking Serie A clubs to Premier League players and predicting prices far below market value, then it’s linking Serie A managers to Premier League clubs.
And specifically Manchester United.
Going back to when Sir Alex Ferguson was leaving Old Trafford, there’s been endless stories insisting the club are looking to appoint someone from Italy.
That started again last week, when it was reported Max Allegri was the subject of some flirting from the Red Devils. He’s been linked for over a decade, since his time at AC Milan, and the claim was that Manchester United are lining up candidates in case they decide to dispense with Erik ten Hag’s services.
InterLive report there’s ‘alarm’ for Inter Milan, and the club should ‘watch out for his farewell’ in 2025.
Inzaghi has a contract with Inter running until June 2026, and the fear is he could leave earlier.
According to the report, and setting the scene for an Italian audience, it’s stated Manchester United don’t have much faith in Ten Hag.
The club are said to be keen on Inzaghi, and the opportunity would be ‘fascinating’ for him. Indeed, it’s stated the Red Devils would be ‘very difficult to refuse’ for the Inter Milan manager.
