The January transfer window may feel like a long way off right now, but clubs are already planning their business ahead of the winter market.
As well as continuing scouting operations, now is a time to look for possible market opportunities and find out which players aren’t getting the prominence they’d like.
That’s seeing multiple Italian clubs target Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The 25-year-old is now back in training with Mikel Arteta’s side, but the belief, specifically in Italy, is that he won’t be getting many minutes and an Arsenal exit is on the horizon.
Last season the defender got around 1200 minutes, mainly at right-back. He missed much of the second half of the season due to knee surgery.
SportMediaSet report Tomiyasu ‘desires a change of scenery in January’. They state Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan are ‘lurking’ and have interest in signing the Arsenal player.
According to the report, the valuation would be ‘around €20m’
Despite the Italian confidence, any move will surely depend on how Arteta sees his Arsenal squad at that time, and the €20m figure may be on the low side if Tomiyasu can prove his return to fitness.
