PSV Eindhoven boss Roger Schmidt has refused to be drawn on a potential move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Davy Propper but has not denied the rumours either.
Two days ago, we covered a report from Eindhoven Dagblad that stated Propper is ‘seriously in the picture’ at Eindhoven ahead of the summer.
They explain that after sitting on the bench in the last few weeks, Propper’s future could lie away from Brighton, and PSV could offer him an escape route.
They wanted to ‘negotiate firmly’ on a €10m asking price to try and bring it down, but all indications were that they are keen on their former player.
There has been nothing about a potential move since then, but it was made clear that the potential move was one to keep an eye on ahead of the summer.
PSV boss Roger Schmidt has now been asked about the Brighton man specifically and, while not confirming the rumours, he did not deny them either.
“The point of reference is Ajax. They have a good team and a big budget,” Voetbal International report him saying.
“An ex-PSV player, who now plays in England (Propper). But what do you want to know exactly?
“Whether we talk about him? We do that for many players. We are, of course, already looking at next season; we want to improve the team.
“We are going to lose a few important players, that’s for sure, so we have to look around in the Netherlands and abroad. But I’m not going to discuss every rumour.”
