Villarreal manager Quique Setién has claimed it is a case of “see what happens” when it comes to Arnaut Danjuma’s potential move to Everton.
Danjuma has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League over the last few weeks, with it made clear in Spain that Villarreal are happy to let him go as he’d fallen down the pecking order.
Everton are one of those chasing his signature as they look to bolster their forward line this month and reports in England yesterday stated that a deal was now at an advanced stage.
That has been backed up by a report from France, where it was claimed that Rennes have been told the player will be joining Everton as a return to England and a move to the Premier League is his preference.
Setién was therefore asked about the Dutchman following the 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid last night but refused to either confirm or deny the rumours.
“We will see if these possible departures are confirmed,” Jornada Perfecta report him saying.
“In principle Jackson is still injured, and with Danjuma we have to wait and see.
“But it’s a position we’re lacking, although it’s true that there are some youngsters from the reserve team who can help us. Let’s see what happens.”
