Earlier today, we covered a story from Spanish newspaper Marca saying Mateo Kovacic would be keen on staying at Chelsea.
Despite the Blues’ transfer ban, the player would be hoping to at least have his loan from Real Madrid extended for a further year at Stamford Bridge.
Now as the Italian press writes about it today, Calcio Mercato finds it unlikely that Kovacic could have a place either at Chelsea or Real Madrid. Because besides the transfer ban, the player wasn’t one of Zinedine Zidane’s favourites at Santiago Bernabeu.
In case he needs to head to a new club, his priority would be to stay in the Premier League, although there isn’t a list of clubs who would like to have him for now.
Now if he wants to move to Serie A, there are several clubs who would be pleased to take him. Calcio Mercato claims that Juventus and Milan have tried in the past, and now Roma and Inter Milan would both be keen on signing him in the next summer.
But as the report says, it will all depend on the transfer ban now, as Kovacic’s wish is to stay in Chelsea, or England generally.
