Much has been reported in recent weeks about the future of Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius at Besiktas, with claims in Turkey his stay with the Super Lig club will be cut short.

Last summer the German joined the Istanbul club on a two year loan deal but the player is keen to leave after reports he’s owed unpaid salary. Besiktas are also keen for him to return to Liverpool with reports this week they plan to hold talks with the Premier League club.

Besiktas want to cut short Karius’ stay in Istanbul and there’s claim in the Turkish press they have a replacement lined up. According to Aksam, the Super Lig side have identified Akhisarspor’s Fatih Ozturk following talks with the 32 year old.

Ozturk will be out of contract at the end of the season, and Aksam say Besiktas want to bring in the French born keeper to replace Karius. They’ve also been linked with Fulham outcast Fabri.

This leaves Karius’ future up in the air as he seems surplus to requirements at Anfield. With Alisson and Simon Mignolet ahead of him his chances of getting games is small if he does head back to Merseyside in the summer.

A move back to Germany could be an option for the player and there have been reports of interested Bundesliga clubs.
