Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta is pushing the club’s interest in Samu Saiz, report Estadio Deportivo.
It’s claimed Orta has identified Saiz, who currently plays for SD Huesca, as he sets about building a team which it’s hoped will take Leeds United to the Premier League. The interest from Leeds is set to provide ‘tough competition’ for Betis and Eibar, who have both been credited with an interest in the player.
Estadio Deportivo say the first thing that happens when an English club is linked is a player’s price suddenly rises, so the interest would be very convenient for Huesca, and also for Saiz’s negotiating stance when it comes to wages.
The 26 year old was linked with Leeds United last summer, so there’s always the possibility the club are being thrown in again to help the rumour along, with the arrival of Orta an added convenience.
Playing mainly as a second striker or attacking midfielder, Saiz scored 12 goals and added 8 assists for Segunda Division side Huesca last season.
