Manchester United’s victory over Young Boys in the Champions League on September 19th was their last win across all competitions.
Jose Mourinho’s side have failed to beat their opponents in their last four matches and this includes a goalless draw against Valencia in the European competition at Old Trafford.
The La Liga outfit were defensively solid, while their attackers were poor at the other end of the pitch, which forced them to settle for a point from their trip to England.
Los Che’s midfielder Daniel Parejo stressed the 20-time English champions resorted to the long ball technique, which was unsuccessful and believes Marcelino’s men “deserved a bit more” from the match.
“We played a great game, they tried long balls because they have tall players. We [could] have scored against them, but we could not. We are happy, but we deserved a bit more,” Parejo was quoted as saying by AS.
Valencia suffered a defeat at the hands of Juventus in the first group stage fixture, while the latter registered a comfortable victory over Young Boys on Tuesday. After two matches, the Turin club are leading the group table with six points, two points ahead of United.
The Spanish club are third in the table with one point and the 29-year-old was asked about Valencia’s chances of making it to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
“It is a tough group against major rivals. Here you go game by game. We’ve taken a big step. Now, to try to win the next and get on with four points,” he said.
