Newspaper Record claimed that no bids had been made so far, but the Hoops have been following the player since his World Cup performances in Russia.
However, some updates this Friday claim that the 21-year-old isn’t leaving Mexican football so soon.
Journalist Juan Carlos Ibarrarán comes up today with some updates on the America stars’ situation, and states that Alvarez is not making a move in the January transfer window.
The reporter reckons it’s been said that Celtic have made an offer for the player, but ‘it’s not like this’. He makes it clear that Alvarez is spending more time at America before moving to Europe.
With the player having a contract with America until 2022, it seems he’s well protected by the Mexican side at least for now.
