Even though Estudiantes de La Plata really want to keep Marcos Rojo at the club, they now admit he may return to Manchester United at the end of his loan spell.
El Picha’s manager Leandro Desábato has been interviewed by Radio Late 931 on Monday, and claimed that the defender should be on his way back to England.
“We have to wait, but Rojo is likely to leave,” said the manager.
“The loan is due, and if Manchester do not want to continue loaning, it’s understandable.”
There’s a big frustration both for Estudiantes and for Marcos Rojo because he could only make one appearance during the six-month loan spell. He first struggled with injuries, then the league was stopped due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Last week, the Argentine media reported that the player is soon becoming a father, and that’s a reason why he’d like to settle down in his home country. However, since his contract with Manchester United runs until 2021, there’s not a lot he can do in case the Red Devils want him back.
