Here’s another update from the Brazilian media regarding the future of Gabriel Barbosa.
Following West Ham’s attempt to sign the Flamengo star, UOL now comes up with some information from people close to the player.
It’s said there’s ‘uncertainty’ among Gabigol’s entourage regarding West Ham’s next steps.
Following the Hammers’ offer to sign the striker on a loan deal, which was rejected by Flamengo, the Premier League side did not say if they would make an offer for a permanent move.
It’s said West Ham were the only club to make an ‘assertive’ move to sign the striker, despite the interest from Newcastle United and Fenerbahce as well.
According to a report from Globo Esporte, West Ham tried to sign Gabigol on a loan until the summer of 2023, paying €6m, and including a buying option. That offer was considered ‘absurd’ and turned down by Flamengo.
Earlier today, we’ve covered the update brought by journalist Jorge Nicola, who’s used to speak to the player’s agent, Junior Pedroso.
He claimed that despite the many responses he uses to get from the representative regarding transfer rumours, the official did not want to comment on the Hammers’ approach.
